The first tee is located around 700 yards from the main clubhouse you can drive or walk down the old 18th fairway where you will find a starters hut and buildings for the Ladies Branch of Royal Portrush Golf Club and the clubhouse for Rathmore Golf Club. The Valley Links home of the Rathmore Golf Club has always been the overlooked links at the Royal Portrush Golf Club.
The course lies between the large sand hills of the East Strand to the north and the Championship Dunluce links to the south and as the name suggests sits in the natural valley. Royal Portrush Golf Club has two courses the Dunluce and the Valley. The Valley Links also called the Rathmore Golf Club by locals gave up its fifth and sixth holes in the dunes so the Dunluce Links could add two new holes in its preparation.
